“Stepping up for Suicide Prevention” – The Mindstep Foundation & British Conveyancing Awards 2025

The Conveyancing Foundation is delighted to be the official Charity Partner of the prestigious British Conveyancing Awards again for 2025!
We are incredibly proud to announce the chosen charity this year will be the Mindstep Foundation, a registered charity that funds suicide prevention research awareness and support for those in need.
Tragically, more than 130 people die by suicide every week and suicide remains as the largest killer of men under the age of 40 across the UK. By investing in research to understand the causes of suicide and promoting awareness of mental health warning signs, the Mindstep Foundation seeks to challenge the stigma around mental health. Their efforts aim to encourage more open conversations and ensure that individuals, particularly young men, receive the help they need.
The charity was founded by the family of Max Davies, who died by suicide in 2018 at the age of 22 following a short period of depression. In Max’s memory, the family are striving to ensure that others do not suffer the loss of a loved one to suicide.
To date, the Mindstep Foundation has raised over £250,000 in charitable donations, helping to drive change and offer hope to all those affected by suicide.
The Mindstep Relay 2025 – Friday 28th – Sunday 30th March
In March, Mindstep will be holding its annual virtual fundraising event to raise money for suicide prevention research at the University of Glasgow.
The Mindstep Relay will run non-stop from Friday 28th 4pm – Sunday 30th March 7pm with each participant choosing a 1-hour timeslot to do any activity they enjoy whether it be running, cycling, dancing or DJ’ing! They then pass the virtual baton to the next person and it keeps going until Sunday night.
Every year, the event involves over a hundred individuals from around the world doing just 1-hour each to collectively raise thousands for suicide prevention. The aim is to create an inclusive and supportive community for the weekend.
The relay is open to all who want to join the team. Visit https://mindstepfoundation.com/mindstep-relay-2025 for more information and to sign up.
Georgia Davies, trustee of the charity and Max’s sister commented:
“We are very honoured to be the charity partner for the British Conveyancing Awards and are grateful to the organisers, all those attending the awards for their support of the Mindstep Foundation. Unfortunately, we know that the ripple effects of someone dying by suicide is vast and that this is an issue at the heart of so many.
The funds raised at this event will help support vital research at the University of Glasgow that help us to find the answers about why people die by suicide and what we can do to prevent it. The potential for this research is significant for all those at risk of suicide and their loved ones. We are grateful for any contributions that can help support this important work.”
